Regional Resilience Improvement Plan

The Broward MPO is investing $500,000.00 in a Regional Resilience Improvement Plan for Broward County. The plan will serve as a strategic framework to enhance the region's ability to withstand and adapt to challenges posed by natural disasters, climate change, and other vulnerabilities.

  • Assess Vulnerabilities: Identify critical infrastructure, transportation networks, and communities at risk due to climate change, extreme weather, or other natural hazards.
  • Prioritize Projects: Establish criteria to prioritize resilience-focused projects, ensuring resources are allocated to the most urgent and impactful needs.
  • Promote Regional Collaboration: Foster coordination among local governments, agencies, and stakeholders to address cross-jurisdictional challenges effectively.
  • Leverage Funding Opportunities: Identify and secure funding from federal, state, and local sources to implement resilience initiatives.
  • Enhance Critical Infrastructure: Strengthen transportation systems and other vital infrastructure to reduce vulnerability and ensure continuity during and after disruptive events.
